At Henley Regatta - July 3rd

It was ever so windy and not that warm but we put on a truly Ukrainian show. Hosted by Krish, Miriam and Sara, from the Sanctuary Foundation we were treated to a ‘regatta picnic’ in some style approx 5 mins along the towpath from Phyllis Court on the Bucks side. Would you believe it, the first race after lunch at 2pm was double women skulls featuring ‘The Ukrainian Federation’. V the Australians?. So exciting to see the Ukrainian and Polish colours powering down the river even if the Aussies were winning by a country mile. We shouted ourselves hoarse and waved our flags and jumped up and down and truly felt part of the Regatta. I wonder how many other people realised that Ukrainian was racing at 2pm on that Saturday.
